Weekly Tips for Writing & Publishing Your Bestselling Book

Don't let this be your biggest regret

Jun 22, 2025

What if I told you that one of the most common regrets people have as they lie on their deathbeds could be prevented by something you can do right now, from your kitchen table?

In her powerful book The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, palliative caregiver Bronnie Ware shares what people wish they'd done differently: not living authentically, working too hard and therefore not spending enough time with their loved ones, not having the courage to express their feelings, and failing to pursue their passions.

I hear the echo of regret about failing to pursue their passions often in my line of work. Aspiring authors come to me saying, "I've always wanted to write a book," or "Everyone tells me I should write a book."

But then they don't. They make excuses. They wait.

An article I read recently called procrastination “an existential threat.” In other words, a threat to our very existence.

Why? Because when we procrastinate, we deny ourselves becoming who we most want to be in life. We deny our Self.

Here's what I want you to know:

Writing doesn’t have to be about creating a book. But when you do, you courageously express your feelings in the most enduring way possible.

When you speak, your words fade quickly into the air. When you post on social media, your thoughts get buried in the endless scroll. But when you write a book? Your voice echoes across generations. Your truth becomes permanent.

So I'm asking you directly: What regrets do you want to avoid on your deathbed?

If one of them is not sharing your story, not writing that book that's been whispering in your ear—then stop waiting for tomorrow.

Start today. Right now, if you can.

Because "someday" has a funny way of never arriving.

Tip of the Week: Just Do It

I’ll admit, I battle with the demons of “No one will buy my book anyway” and “I just don’t have time” myself. This is why you have to make a strong commitment to getting your book written.

Here are some strategies to help:

  1. Choose an accountability partner. Preferably someone else who wants to write a book. Check in daily.
  2. Join a community. The Story Cure is here for you! Free the first month and just $10/month after that, we are a group of heart-centered people who all love to write and share our story. It’s a like a private Facebook group filled with nothing but uplifting, poetic words and inspiration. Join us today!
  3. Write. Put pen to paper. Butt in the chair at your computer. At least 5 minutes a day, just write.

Quote of the Week

It costs little for you to write down the lessons of your life and yet those few minutes spent writing can be life-altering for the right reader. As I once saw it put: "there is someone out there with a wound in the exact shape of your words."
